Using Atom/RSS Feeds

Atom feeds, earlier known as RSS (Really Simple Syndication), allow you to follow multiple websites' content without visiting; think Apple News or Google News except you choose which websites to read. For example, if you eagerly await every new Milwaukee County Blog post but don't want to sit there constantly refreshing your browser, you can subscribe to the Atom feed and have your app notify you each time it arrives along with other great content! So how do you do that?

  1. Pick a Feed Reader! Below are just a few options but Feedbin is my favorite.
  2. Click or copy the Atom/Feed/RSS link at the top of this page.
  3. Open your Feed Reader.
  4. Click add feed (or equivalent.)
  5. Paste the feed address into the empty space.
  6. Save and you are now following MCB!

You can repeat the process with many other websites to follow blogs and news sites all in one place. Here are some of my favorite blogs to get you started.
